N Seoul Tower

Overview

The N Seoul Tower, officially known as the YTN Seoul Tower often referred to by its nickname Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower. Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower is a communication and observation tower that is located at the top of Namsan Mountain in central Seoul, South Korea. It is the highest spot in Seoul.

The tower was constructed in 1969 and was open for public viewing in the year 1980. Seoul Tower was completed on December 3rd, 1971. It was created by Jangjongryul. In August 1975, there was open on the third floor the observatory, the museum open hall, along with a shop for souvenirs. After the tower was completed it was decided that the usage of the observatorium was banned. The tower was opened to the public for the very first time on the 15th of October 1980. Since since then, it has become a symbol of Seoul. It’s 236.7 meters in height from its base and reaches its highest point at 479.7 metres higher than sea level. The name was changed in 2005 to N Seoul Tower in 2005. “N” stands for new, Namsan and nature “N” stands for new, Namsan and nature.
